Canossian daughters of charity (FDCC)

The Congregation of the Canossian Daughters of Charity was founded by St Magdalene of Canossa at the beginning of the 19th century. She was born into a noble family in Verona, Italy. However, she was not indifferent to the proverty and misery that surrounded her.
Drawn by the love of God, She decided to consecrate her life to God. In 1808, she left her family home to begin her ministry in the poorest districts of Verona.
Today, the Canossian Sisters are engaged in ministries in 32 countries.
Inspired by the unconditional love of christ Crucified and Risen, the Canossian sisters, commit themselves to live their consecration in prayer, fraternal life in community, experiencing faith, trust and mutual forgiveness together. In a shared mission with lay persons and the Church, they serve their brothers and sisters especially the poorest, making Jesus known and loved as they journey with them into the third millennium.
They are engaged in schools, kindergartens. pastoral work in parishes, assistance to the sick, faith formation and spiritual direction. Their style is one of prevention and promotion of the person.
