MPBS - MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD SISTERS

The Congregation
The Congregation of the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood was founded on May 17, 1876 in Monza, North Italy, by Mother Maria Matilde Bucchi.

Our Foundress
Mother Maria Matilde Bucchi was born in Italy in 18th of May 1812. Since her youth she nourished a deep desire to share the Cross with Christ and a strong love for the Eucharist. Inspired by the Holy Spirit and following the advice of eminent religious priests, after serious difficulties and sufferings she founded the Congregation of the sisters of the Most Precious Blood. She died on the 1st of March, 1882 in Monza.

Our Charism

We worship the Blood of Jesus Christ, shed, as a price of salvation, for all men, and collaborate in the redeeming work of Christ through our loving service to the poor. We try to make fruitful the Blood of Christ and living by the Eucharist we becomes broken bread for God’s people, serving them with the heart of Christ.

Our Vision
we make known to all those we meet that in the Blood of Jesus Christ each son of God has value and dignity.

Our Mission
Our mission is marked by GRATUITOUS, HUMILITY, JOY, SIMPLICITY, SPIRIT OF SELF-SACRIFICE AND SPIRIT OF FAMILY.

Parishes
The sisters work in the Parishes (catechism, visiting families, and in different groups) and among young people, answer to the desire of the Church that invites to be: “Communities who make themselves ANNOUNCE, SERVICE and PROPHETIC witness. The Risen Christ who lives in them gives His Spirit and makes them witnesses of the Resurrection”.

Youths
The youth ministry has a precise educative connotation and the sisters who work among them put themselves at their service trying to understand their requests, doubts, desires sometimes not expressed, sustaining, loving and helping them to become aware of their divine sonship in order to discover, welcome and answer God’s project upon them.
The sisters, who work in the different fields of health, are prophesy of fraternity, because they put the person at the centre of their apostolic action.
Now the Congregation is spread all over Italy from the North to the South, in Brazil, in Kenya, in East Timor and in Myanmar.
