Historical Backgraund

Justive and Peace Commission (JP) is a Catholic Peace Network working to support the Church and the people of Myanmar in promoting peace and solidarity among and betweem various ethnics, faiths, cultures and enviroments in the Country. Justice and Peace commission with the support of CRS, undertakes initiatives of capacity building skills to enable people in promoting peace and development in respective areas.

Mutual trust, cooperation, and solidarity between and among the diverse ethnic and religious groups in Myanmar

            JP will strive to

PARTNERS

  • CRS (Giving Hope to a World of Need)

Catholic Relief Services was founded in 1943 by the Catholic Bishops of the United States to serve World War II survivors in Europe. Since then, CRS have expanded in size to reach more than 100 million people in more than 100 countries on five continents.

The fundamental motivating force in all activities of CRS is the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it pertains to the alleviation of human suffering, the development of people and the fostering of charity and justice.

CTIVITIES

Promoting Community Empowerment Solidarity and Social Harmony  (ProCESS Project)

ProCESS is a three-year project implemented by the Justice and Peace (JP) Commission and its partner the Swe Tha Har (STH) Network designed to build peace and promote reconciliation and solidarity by addressing the issues of ethnic rivalry and identity conflict that underline violence in Myanmar. The project is funded by the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and Caritas Australia (CA).
