(Bishop of Kalay and President of CBCM)

Your Eminence, Archbishops and Bishops, Priests, Religious and all the Faithful in Myanmar and Abroad,

The resurrection of Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of the deepest desire of human hearts. We thirst for the living God, the fullness of joy, peace, love, truth.  As the hind longs for the running waters, so my soul longs for you, O God. Athirst is my soul for God, the living God (Ps. 42:2-3).

Easter is springtime which brings new life and new significance of our existence. It is the time of hope, a time that always points to the future, to a harvest, to a re-created, renewed world.

At Easter, we taste in a special way the life of grace, the sharing of the supernatural life of the Christian because we have purified our souls at lent, joined Christ on the way of the cross, taken to heart his teaching about the pleasures and vanity of world, realised the bitterness, emptiness and malice of sin.

The resurrection of Christ is a powerful call to apostolate: to be light and to carry the light to others. To do this we must be united to Christ. St. Paul gave a motto to the Christians at Ephesus: ‘to fill everything with the spirit of Jesus, placing Christ at the centre of everything. (1:10).Amen.

He has triumphed over death; he has overcome sorrow, anguish and the power of darkness…In him we find everything. Outside of him our life is empty. So, may we never die through sin: may our spiritual resurrection be eternal. “He loves each one of us as if there were only one of us” (St. Augustine)

Flowers are blooming everywhere, birds songs are in the air. Spring is unfolding her treasures, and wants us all to share. An Easter wish, a loving prayer that God will keep you in His care; and in His goodness, may He bless Your Easter Day with happiness.

Have a beautiful and wonderful Easter Day!

Your brother In the Risen Lord,

Msgr. Felix Lian Khen Thang

(Bishop of Kalay and President of CBCM)
